The main occupation of Goar caste is to perform in various forms of art and entertainment like traditional acrobatics, street performances like Rope walking, Fire eating. Due to living in forests and not having any permanent residence, they did not get education for a long time and they also lost their real identity, due to which they were included in the category of Scheduled Cats after independence, due to which they got the government rights like getting education and buying land etc., and singing. But now they are getting involved in agriculture and other professions as well. The Goar claim to belong to the Chauhan Rajput clan, who to preserve their lineage and to avoid exploitation, abandoned their kingdom and took to the forests and some adopted a nomadic lifestyle, in which they went from village to village to earn their living and support their families by showing their art and skills. But now they are getting involved in agriculture and other professions as well. They have their own different clothing and language and lifestyle.They mostly speak their own language in their homes and communities. Their language is called Goar, which only people of this community can speak and understand. They talk to people from outside communities in other languages such as Punjabi, Hindi and English. Historically, these communities are found in Hindu and Muslim religions, but after the India-Pakistan division some people adopted Sikh religion, so now they are found in Hindu, Sikh and Muslim religions, but the majority of them practice Hindu religion. They claim that they are descendants of Lord Krishna's gopis, who were Kshatriya Rajputs.Goar community is found in the states of Punjab, Gujarat, Rajasthan and Haryana but majority of the population is in Punjab.
